About the Role
Northside Family Resource Centre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen while contributing to two vital community services: our Meals on Wheels programme for older people and our Childcare Kitchen, which provides nutritious meals for children attending our early years services.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals for both older persons and children
Learn and apply food safety standards, including HACCP procedures
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation and kitchen areas
Portion, package, and label meals for delivery and childcare service
Support stock rotation and inventory management
Assist with deliveries and liaise with the delivery team
Provide cover during staff absences and busy periods
Collaborate with childcare staff to ensure meals meet dietary and nutritional guidelines

No prior experience required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential

Willingness to undertake training and grow professionally
